We are happy to accept dogs here at the White House by pre-arrangement
Our Cocker Spaniel Charlie loves his daily walks along the beach or up the River Char Valley, as well as venturing further afield to the old Iron Age Hill Forts of Lamberts and Coneys Castle just a couple of miles north of Charmouth.
The West Dorset countryside is criss-crossed with paths, trails and bridleways making it a perfect doggy destination. We are very happy to direct you to some outstanding walks, equally good with or without man's best friend, all easily accessible either on foot or with a short drive.
Please be aware there are dog restrictions on the local beaches at certain times of year. We can advise you of these rules at the time of your visit as they change throughout the year.
We know that the vast majority of dog owners are entirely responsible and we have had very few issues over the years. However we do just ask that these few simple guidelines are followed for the comfort of all our guests, both canine and human.
- Please can you bring your dogs bedding/blanket /cage rather than allowing them to sleep on the beds and furniture.
- We ask that dogs are not left unattended in the bedrooms at any time.
- Our garden is there to be enjoyed by all and therefore we ask that you keep your dog from using it as a loo.
- It can get a but muddy in these parts so if your dog has been rolling around in mud ( or worse ) we ask that they be given a good clean before entering the building. We are happy to provide towels should the need arise.
There is a charge of £5 per night if you wish to bring your dog.
Please note, we are not suitable for very large breeds of dog.
